Our Travel Story: 4D3N Macau-HK Lakwatsa Part One

Warning:  Looongg post :D (A blog post over one month in the making.)

May 17-21, 2013

Here goes our travel story:-)

Its hubby and moi's second time to travel together abroad. The first one was our trip to Bangkok last August 2009.  That seems ages ago!

May 17 FRIDAY PM

Since we will take off via Clark International Airport at around 7PM, our trip started from Olongapo at a little past 2PM we rode Victory Liner  via SCTEX, which is supposed to be airconditioned but it seemed like a regular bus as all the passengers were perspiring.  Nevertheless, at about 4PM we arrived safely at Dau, Mabalacat Pampanga.  Thank God!

Upon arrival at Dau, we rode a tricycle to Clark for Php 70 and then rode a jeepney to the airport for Php 50 each.

At the Clark International Airport we were quite surprised as their AC broke down:( The same atmosphere inside Clark Airport  and Victory Liner Bus:( It's super hot! Like we're melting (hehehe! exaggerated much).

Excited much :D hubby and me @ Clark International Airport
We wasted no time and so we immediately lined up for Step 1-Payment of Travel Tax:(

After paying travel tax for Php 1,620 each (side comment: can PNoy thru his tuwid na daan do something to reduce this?!)

We checked in our baggage and after having issued our boarding passes, we proceeded to the next step and paid terminal fees of Php 450 each (this used to be 750!-clap!clap!clap!) then queued next to the Immigration.

No hassles so far at the Immigration, so the 6 of us proceeded to the waiting area for boarding:  Esphie, Mama Joyce, Vien and Monica, Hubby and me.

While waiting for boarding, we had JCO donuts and Gardenia raisin bread for merienda:-)

@ exactly 6:40PM we boarded Cebu Pacific Flight 5J370 and at 7PM we departed from Clark on time:-)  We're very excited because it's hubby and moi's first time to visit Macau and HK. Although Mama Joyce and Vien used to live there a few years back, a lot has changed since their last travel there.

Ready to board!
Hubby and moi on Board our Cebu Pac Flight to Macau:)

The flight went smoothly and we arrived in Macau ahead of time. At 8:50 pm, touchdown Macau:-)  Looking out the plane's window, I caught a glimpse of the lively lights from the tall buildings in Macau.  I saw "City of Dreams" and tons of blinking lights:-) :-) :-)

Touch down Macau :D

We're finally here!!! There is no time difference between Macau and Philippines.

We had a few pictures upon landing although it was supposedly not allowed.

We queued at the "visitors lane" @ the Macau Immigration. For the first time I noticed firsthand how "masungit" these Chinese people are:( I dunno if its just towards Filipinos or is it some kind of a requirement for Immigration Officers to be "masungit" and unapproachable. Maybe they are just doing their job noh?

Mama Joyce:  Yenggg, bawal mag picture! Hehehe

We waited for Mama Joyce's friends to fetch us from the airport, unfortunately they are all still at work. The good thing though --- Vien's Dad was there.

With Esphie and Mama Joyce while waiting at Macau Airport
We experienced our first bus ride in Macau for "free" -Thank you- Wynn's Casino.
Free Bus Ride courtesy of Wynn's Casino

We had some pictures taken at Wynn's and then strolled to the next bus stop in front of Grand Lisboa to reach our accommodation. Our flat is near the San Malo area, it's like the central area in Macau.

Photos taken at Wynn's Casino.

Bus ride to our flat (Monica and Esphie).  The bus is actually the most common means of transportation in Macau.
Upon stepping off the bus with our luggages in tow, we first proceeded to McDonalds for our late dinner:-) We ordered Champ and fries for "take away" that's their term for "take out" or "to go" as expected, NO Rice Meals available:(

When you're hungry, McDo is the place to be! I wasn't able to try that black and white burger though :(
Finally, we reached our flat:-)  after endless steps at the stairway LOL:-)  Our room was at the 4th floor. We're all hungry and tired plus surprised as we're not the only ones occupying the flat, there's a Filipino couple who unexpectedly arrived ahead of us. Apparently, there was a mix-up/issue between mother-daughter flat owners.  Well, that's another story.

We're so hungry we could eat a horse:-)  We decided to just stay in one room all 5 of us:-)  The room was with AC, so there's no problem for us.

Sleep slowly came and I am so excited, I can't wait for the morning stroll:-)Part 2 of this post is up next:)
