3D2N Cebu: Queen City of the South

April 27-29, 2016

It's my 3rd time in Cebu! This trip is part leisure and part business.  There's too many places to go and see but so little time. We definitely made the most of our free time. I am super thankful to my awesome companions!  They are such troopers!

Our day started pretty early as our flight to Cebu is via Manila at 9:40AM.  Sadly, no flights available on that date via Clark.  At 3:00AM we were rolling from our place in Bataan.  At around 6:30AM we arrived at NAIA Terminal 3.  We queued at the Self-Check In Kiosk for our Boarding Passes.  Since we don't have luggage for check-in, we immediately proceeded to the Food Hall for breakfast.  Our group had plenty of time to spare.  We had coffee and cheesecake at Illy while waiting to board our flight.

We boarded on time, however, due to air traffic management situation in Manila, our plane took off an hour late.  We arrived Cebu International Airport at 12:00.

Just landed Cebu!
Traffic welcomed us upon our arrival in Cebu.
Traffic jam ahead!

Tip:  Please choose White Taxi over Yellow Taxi for your transportation from the airport to Metro Cebu.  We found out too late that Yellow Taxi's Flag Down Rate is PhP 70.00 while White Taxi is only PhP 40.00.

Traffic situation was really bad, upon arrival at our accommodation, we immediately checked in at Castle Peak Hotel.

We just dropped our bags and proceeded to the first order of the day ---> LUNCH! and  our destination: CnT Restaurant near SM Cebu.

Just the 3 of us:  1/2 kilo of CnT Lechon for lunchie!

Our lunch albeit late was so worth it!  We then proceeded to the Ayala Center to stroll and have coffee:-)

After roaming around Ayala Center we proceeded to the Basilica Sto. Niño de Cebu and Magellan's Cross:

Mass on going

After the church visit, we decided to see the Lapu-Lapu Shrine, just in time for the Kadaugan Festival.  What are the odds, our first visit to Lapu-Lapu Shrine fell exactly on the same day of the "Kadaugan" or the commemoration of Lapu-Lapu's heroism.

At Lapu-Lapu Shrine
We braved the traffic from Lapu-Lapu City to Cebu City for our dinner at STK Ta Bai! "Sugba, Tula, Kilaw":

After dinner, we went back to Castle Peak to rest.  My roomie and I decided to check out the Chill Out Bar for a few songs:

Attend the Visayas Shipping Conference at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel

After the Conference we went to have a much needed foot massage at Nuat Thai, just a walking distance from our hotel.  Then we proceeded to the Taboan Market for some pasalubong shopping.

To cap the night we had dinner with a view at Mr. A's in Busa and an amazing view from the top at the TOPS Lookout.
