2015 Pilgrimage #2: Kamay ni Hesus Hill Shrine @ Lucban, Quezon

March 22, 2015

Our pilgrimage to Kamay ni Hesus with some of our neighbors was supposed to be scheduled this weekend, March 28, 2015, however, due to unavailability of vehicle and other issues, our trip was moved a week earlier.

We didn't expect the cloudy weather when we reached South. We were in Batangas, when it started drizzling.  We didn't bring any jacket or umbrella:-( Hence, we were forced to pay for overpriced umbrellas sold at the parking area.

"Slippery when Wet!"
It's everybody's first time to visit "Kamay Ni Hesus Hill Shrine" in Lucban, Quezon.  We left our place in San Pablo Dinalupihan, Bataan at about 2:30AM of Sunday (March 22, 2015).  I appreciate road trips because it gives me an opportunity to appreciate nature.  I love nature!  And I also noticed that each place/province have their own version of tricycle:-)

I <3 Nature:-)

After 5 hours on the road---> "PARINI SA LUCBAN" or "Welcome to Lucban, Quezon!"

Upon reaching the parking area for Kamay ni Hesus pilgrims, we decided to eat our breakfast baon first before we attempt to climb the shrine and attend Sunday mass.
Welcome to Lucban!

Thank you Ivan for this photo!

At the top, soaking wet with rain water and sweat!
I have to say that the rain during our visit was truly a blessing in disguise because had we been there on a sunny weather, I don't think we can make it up to the top.  It was both a challenge and a sacrifice for hubby and I.  We were soaking wet so we had to stop for a bit in the middle part of the hill.  Much so for our neighbor Kuya Emer who had to carry his 2-year old daughter up to the top while its raining really hard.  I think it must be our silent prayers that pull us through.  Hubby and I felt truly blessed to accomplish it together.  May God hear our pryers and grant the desires of our hearts. Amen.

After the trek, we heard mass at the chapel down the hill, it was still raining when we left Kamay ni Hesus Shrine.  We had lunch at a Shell Station near the area before heading home.

Salamat po Lucban! Till next time.
We didn't have the chance to explore Lucban, even the entire Kamay Ni Hesus facility because of the weather.  Hopefully, if God permits, we can explore the place on our next visit!
