4D3N Trip to KL, Malaysia and Singapura (Day 1)

August 21-24, 2015

A true "lakwatsera" is always on the look out for "seat sale, cheap flights and budget accommodation".  So when I saw the Air Asia Promo online last June, I immediately told my husband and close friends.  Our group was composed of 10 people, 4 from work, 4 from our neighborhood plus hubby and me. We took advantage of the long weekend plus it was sort of a post birthday trip for me:-)

On our quest to collect memories, we enjoyed every bit of this trip---> the adventures, (mis)adventures, bloopers and all.  In the future we'll looked back and smile and say, we did it!

It is technically hubby and moi's 4th time to travel abroad, our last time was in May 2013 when we traveled to Macau and Hongkong.

Day 1 (August 21, 2015)
Clark-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We were rolling at exactly 8AM on Friday.  While on the road, it was drizzling due to Typhoon "Ineng".  We were at Clark International Airport a little past 9AM. We waited for Air Asia's Check-In Counters to open at 10AM.  Our flight to Kuala Lumpur is scheduled at 1PM.

Upon check-in, we paid the travel tax  PhP 1,620.00 each and Terminal Fee PhP 550.00 Whew! that's a total of PhP 2,170.00 each off from our budget :-(

Before going to the Immigration Counters, we filled out our departure cards at this counter...

Everybody's busy except me and Che :-)

We went through the Immigration Counters in a breeze until one of our friend was held a few minutes longer at the final security check, apparently, she was wearing steel toe shoes!

Feeling relaxed while waiting for boarding.

Took this photo upon boarding
We were praying for a good weather during the 4-hour flight.  We were on schedule however, we experienced a little turbulence during the flight.

Seatmates:  Che, hubby and me
After 4 hours, Touchdown KL
Walking to the designated KL Immigration Counters

Our first group picture in KL, Malaysia
Toll Booth from KLIA2 to KL Central
We were torn between riding the train which costs MYR 35 or the bus for MYR 11 each! Budget travelers that we are, we naturally took the bus:-) It was almost 7PM but its as if 4PM in the afternoon.
Bus ride to KL Central

Getting our Monorail tickets to take us to the Imbi Station
Waiting for our train!!!
Kai took this picture and then after a few minutes we saw the train and immediately boarded the train.  Unfortunately, Kai's luggage got left behind :-( There goes bloopers #1, more to come! Hahaha!
We were all excited to board the train and totally forgot about Kai's Luggage
We even had the chance to take a selfie while on board the train, until Kai noticed that her luggage is missing...

All smiles!
Our group got off the next station and then asked for assistance from the staff to call KL Central station about the the luggage which was accidentally left behind. When it was confirmed thru phone, Kai went back to claim her luggage. The good thing is that Kai was able to get her luggage back, if not she would have to buy new outfits!

While waiting for Kai...

As soon as Kai got back, we waited a bit for the next train...
In a few minutes, we were at the IMBI Station, we got off at Berjaya Times Square, walked a bit to reach our accommodation and immediately checked-in at Metro Hotel.

Metro Hotel Lobby
After checking in we went up to our rooms and freshen up a bit.  After 10 minutes we were at the lobby for a walking tour and late dinner.  We ended up at this restaurant at the lower ground floor of Berjaya Times Square.

Kai and I ordered the same meal for dinner. Thumbs up!
Our first meal in KL!
It's odd to see they serve Ramen in a cooking ware! (See hubby's food) Hehehe! The food was superb! Until we saw the bill, we were all surprised that aside from the additional cost for Service Charge the food was also subject to tax (GST or something).
Che's order, also Yummy!!!
After dinner, the others decided to rest, while the rest of us strolled the streets of Bukit Bintang, KL.

Stroll some more!
Menara or KL Tower
Menara Tower seems so near yet so far.  We strolled until our feet hurt, hehehe!

Until we settled for a photo with Menara Tower at the background
We strolled back to the hotel and found this shoe store selling various brands of shoes and flip flops.
Hubby wants a new tennis racket!
After strolling, we had to call it a night as we have an early flight to Singapore the next day.  Our call time is at 4:30 A.M.

Bye for now my fellow lakwatseros y lakwatseras!!!

XOXOXO
