Corregidor: Fortress of Freedom

Welcome to Corregidor!  That's the tadpole shape island--- as you can see from the background map.
"To live in freedom's light is the right of mankind." @ the Eternal Flame of Freedom
@ Gen. Douglas McArthur's monument.
Hubby and moi @ the Topside Barracks( also known as the mile-long barracks).
@ the Middleside Barracks. I can still remember how the eerie silence gave me goosies!

You have a really nice website and I really look forward to reading it more in depth. Like you, I enjoy travel, and, where possible, travel on a budget to interesting and "off-the-beaten-path" places that have a lot of history and natural beauty. I'm especially interested in traveling more in the Philippines (my wife is a Pinay) and learning about places neither have been to in the Philippines. Please stop by my blog when you get a chance, I have lots of posts of our family's travels in the Philippines (we've been married 18 years and have an 8-year-old daughter).

Corregidor is a really nice place; I went there in 1998 and would like to go back with the whole family. Thanks for this nice post, and I look forward to learning more from your blog!

Ingat!
